Aromatherapy and pregnancy

Pregnancy and birth is the wonderful experience of the life of a woman. To describe a list of contradictions. What other event can be so universal yet so personal? At what other time could a woman more in line with their feminine side, but still their strongest reserve of raw power tapping? What other rite of passage takes them into the doors of death, only to open and a new life? There is no other time when a woman may feel so ill in all good health. There is no other event quite nice.

After a century of strong medical prenatal care and birth, the trend in recent decades, back to the natural, gentle birth techniques swinging. Midwives and doulas, once rejected by the medical world is now welcome in hospitals, often replacing doctors at the bedside of pregnant women. It was a lot about the benefits of water, hypnosis and naturopathy written pregnancy and birth. This article is about the use of aromatherapy to ease complaints, aimed at relieving emotional stress, and good health of mother and child during pregnancy.

Every pregnancy has its own set of problems resulting from normal fluctuations of hormones and bodily changes. Cool or warm compresses can do wonders to restore a sense of balance and wellbeing. Fill a bowl with hot or cold water (depending on what you want.) 3-4 drops lavender, and place a washcloth on top of the water to the oil film to capture. Wring out the flannel and place it on the forehead or the front of the chest. For hot compresses, cover the flannel with plastic and add a towel.

Citrus oils such as orange, lemon, grapefruit and bergamot, are safe to use in early pregnancy and uplifting qualities. They are particularly effective in relieving vomiting. Add 7 drops of lemon oil 1 gram olive oil (or another carrier oil) and massage on the stomach for best results.

Varicose veins respond well to a cypress, geranium, lemon, and lavender oils. Use a mixture of these oils in a warm bath (total 6 drops), with alternating hot and cold compresses (total 4 drops) in the affected areas, or in a massage oil (total 7 drops of essential oil per ounce of olive oil). When massaged with soft lines from the base upwards, and you do not pay attention to too much pressure, varicose veins which begins or ends.

Women who complain of hemorrhoids and swollen anal tissue can be found free in a cool hip bath with 6 drops of lemon oil. To prepare the bath for a large plastic bucket into the bathtub and fill with water. Add the oil and stir to distribute. The legs and feet outside the plastic, lower yourself into the water and enjoy over 20 minutes. Follow-up with an aromatic massage of 7 drops of cypress and 7 drops of lemon oil in 2 grams of olive oil.

Another disease in pregnancy is edema, or fluid retention. Lavender, rosemary and geranium oils to combat this by stimulating the lymphatic system to drain excess fluid from the body. Massage of the feet and ankles, with upward movement with a combination of oils such as olive oil, or try a cool foot bath with 3 drops of geranium or lemon oil and 3 drops of lavender.

Almost every woman deserves at least a few welts on the end of her pregnancy. This can be prevented or externally by applying a mixture of wheat germ oil 1 gram each and hazelnut oil with 4 drops neroli, 2 drops of carrot seed and 2 drops of geranium reduced. Massage the mixture into the thighs, hips, abdomen and chest every morning and evening will nourish the skin and maintain elasticity.

Please note that some essential oils should not be used during pregnancy because they are known abortifacients. These include basil, fennel, myrrh, parsley, sage and thyme. Other oil emenogogues in some texts are recorded as unsafe during pregnancy, while others will be encouraged. Cedarwood, chamomile, sage, cypress, jasmine, juniper, lavender, marjoram, mint, rose, rosemary, and should therefore be used with caution.
